Salivary nitrosamine output voltage levels as an early detection of malignancy in the oral cavity

Introduction: Oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) is the world's sixth malignant disease with multifactorial causes. Nitrosamine compounds can be found in saliva and used as a biomarker for early detection of oral cancer. Carcinogenic nitrosamines derived from tobacco use contact normal cavity cells. It affects process controlling growth by interfering DNA translation. This study aims to determine compare output voltage values nonsmokers, smokers, patients cancer Medan. Methods: research descriptive-analytic cross-sectional approach. The value was measured collecting nonsmoking, smoking patients. Results: using One-way ANOVA test, results this showed that nonsmoker (standard) 4.46±0.17 Volt, compared smoker 4.91±0.14 Volt. Whereas, In 7, 66±0.48 concludes there significant difference level salivary between (p<0.05). Conclusion: nitrosamine levels an malignancy cavity.
